Details About Stress - Introduction

In today’s society we all face a number of challenges and obstacles, and sometimes pressure can take its toll on anyone, making us experience a mixture of physical and emotional effects that can create positive or negative feelings - Stress!

Stress can be described in a number of ways. Some say it is your body's way of responding to any kind of demand, while others state it is the "wear and tear" our bodies experience as we adjust to our continually changing environment.

The human body is designed to experience stress and react to it. As a positive influence, stress can give you the push you need, motivating you to do your best and to stay focused and alert. But as a negative influence, which stress tends to be more often than not, it can become a threat to both your physical and emotional well-being. It can cause a number of feelings such as rejection, anger, and depression, which in turn can lead to health problems such as headaches, upset stomach, rashes, insomnia, ulcers, high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke.

So, depending on we react to it in certain circumstances, stress will either help or hinder us. StressManagement.co.uk is about understanding stress, recognising its symptoms and onset, and holistically turning it into a positive force using a variety of tools, information and techniques.
