Heat Stress and Summer Stress

You would be forgiven to think that the world has entered some sort of surreal reality where nothing is quite as it was just a few months back.

People have been mislead and lied to by faceless experts and lime light seeking politicians trying to convince us that the economic downturn was nothing more than a mere credit crunch, which soon became a possible recession and now a deep recession. However, as many people know through their bitter experience, we are in fact in entering a depression, let alone a recession. If this wasn’t enough, the population of Britain are discovering how their elected leaders are blatantly ripping-off the tax payers and the population true to their character have done little else but grumble. However, the stress keeps mounting on and soon we will begin to experience heat-stress, or summer-stress.

Summer stress has two components, the first one being the increasing temperatures which are expected to get as high as 35-40 C in the UK this summer, and the second source of stress is the increasing strikes, civil unrest and tensions. The Romanians have been the first causality of community tensions and with increased job insecurity, unpredictable weather patterns and record temperatures are all increasing stress levels in individuals and families across the UK.

Breath awareness techniques such as mindfulness meditation have been shown to effectively deal with stress and stress related illnesses such as depression, anxiety, fear, anger and even pain.
