London commute one of the most stressful in Europe

The commute through London is one of the most stressful in Europe, a survey has found.

Questioning 5,500 people who commute in London, Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Madrid and Berlin every day and comparing results, found that the UK’s capital is the most stressful.

47 per cent of those in London admitted that they were late to work 3 or 4 times a months as a result of their commute.

The strain of getting to work was, according to some, greater or on par with the strain of the actual job they were trying to get to.

The youngest commuters, those aged between 18 and 24, were found to be the most stressed out by their daily journey.

It can be hard to clear our heads and let ourselves become calm in today’s society as we are under a constant barrage of information from the media and technology like smartphones which constantly barrage us with emails, notifications and messages.

During a commute, on the densely crowded public transport of London, it can be so overwhelming that it can be hard to deal with it, let alone focus and manage stress from being late to work.

Our society only helps promote stress. Stress can lead to mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. It is important that people learn how to manage it and keep their mental self healthy.
