Stress has been shown to have an impact on mental health and emotional wellbeing. Specifically, when an individual is under stress, performance and efficiency is decreased.
In addition, mental problems such as anxiety and the presence of emotions such as anger are likely to arise which will have additional detrimental affects on other parts of life such as relationships. More importantly, the mental and emotional effects of stress can lead to physical illness and burnout.
It is important to recognise and address the affect of stress on mental and emotional health rather than allowing it to mindlessly occur.
Practicing Mindfulness can help address mind states and emotions that can be destructive if left unattended.
