What is Mental Stress?

Mental stress, also called cognitive stress, refers to the pressure we place on our thinking and decision-making abilities. It often builds up when our minds are overworked or overwhelmed by demands from work, school, or daily life.

Signs of Mental Stress:

  • Racing thoughts or difficulty switching off
  • Difficulty concentrating or focusing
  • Poor memory or forgetfulness
  • Feeling overwhelmed or mentally drained
  • Constant worry or indecisiveness

Causes of Mental Stress:

  • Heavy workloads or unrealistic deadlines
  • Academic or study pressure
  • Life transitions or major decisions
  • Mental exhaustion from multitasking
  • Lack of mental rest or stimulation

Managing Mental Stress:
